First English Lutheran Church in Punxsutawney is
proud to announce the second concert of its 2012-2013 Concert Series. The IUP Sophomore Brass Quintet will present
a holiday mix of traditional hymns and carols at the church, located at the
corner of Pine and Gilpin Streets in
downtown Punxsutawney, beginning at 4:30 PM on Sunday, December 9, 2012. Following the performance a reception
coordinated by Chef Martha Jo Rupert of
the IUP Culinary School will permit the audience to greet the performers and
continue the holiday spirit! The IUP Sophomore
Brass Quintet features Jacob Dopp, trumpet; Mason Stiver, trumpet; Nathaniel
Lease, trombone; Michael Heuft, horn; and Tashio Jefferson, tuba. Remaining events in the church’s 2012-2013 concert
series include a concert by the Voices of
Joy Gospel Choir in March or April, and a concert celebrating the Pentecost
season by First English Lutheran Church’s own Gallery Choir, The First English
Ringers handbell choir, and the adult recorder consort Flauto Dolce on Sunday, May 19th, 2013. All concerts in this year’s series are
offered at no charge to the community.
An offering will be accepted to help defray concert-related
expenses. The church is located at the
corner of Gilpin and Pine Streets in downtown Punxsutawney. |
