Lutheran Women in Jefferson and Indiana County Cluster are collecting items and making "Newborn Baby Bags." These items are used by the Children & Youth Services department. When a newborn and/or children in any emergency are placed in temporary foster care, these parents are often not prepared for a newborn. The department has these bags on hand to give to the foster parents. During the virus pandemic, if a baby is born into a family who has tested positive, it and other children are removed immediately as long as they have tested negative. Items for the bags are: 2 Small Bottles 2 Bibs 2 Onesies (Newborn Size) 2 Burp Cloths 1 Receiving Blanket Toy/Rattle Small Size Of: Shampoo, Lotion, Soap Make A Draw-string Bag For The Items
Older Children: Collapsible Duffle Bag To Carry Their Clothes (Instead of a plastic garbage bag)
If you would rather give money, our ladies will purchase the items and make the bags. If you like to sew, the receiving blanket and burp cloths can be made of flannel you purchase. Please bring items to the collection area at your church by August 2. Checks can be made out to NWPA SWO and sent to Mary Ann Patterson. Thank you! |
