ELCA Disaster Response

From the ELCA Disaster Response homepage, “We help to bring God’s comfort, healing and renewal to those affected by disasters. And when the dust settles and the headlines change, we stay to provide ongoing assistance to those in need.” Last year, the ELCA and its partners responded to 23 disasters, both in the United States and around the world. Currently, the ELCA is responding to the ongoing conflict in the Ukraine, Israel, and Palestine that has displaced nearly 2.5 million people. These displaced persons are seeking refuge elsewhere, while many others are crossing the borders in search of safety and shelter.

The ELCA has pledged $200,000 to help the refugees in Syria and another $250,000 to provide camp management. If you would like to make a donation to these efforts, please visit www.elca.org/disaster.
